WOOD CUTTING BOARD CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Hand wash Only - Never submerge in water. Set on side to air dry.
Do not place in dishwasher or in microwave.
To avoid bacteria, it is important that you wash your cutting board immediately after use. Wipe down the cutting board with hot soapy water, rinse it with hot water only, wipe dry with clean dish towel, store in a dry area.

DISINFECT AND DEODORIZE
Spray board down with white vinegar, let set for a few minutes, then wipe it with a warm cloth.
White vinegar is an excellent disinfectant for E.Coli, salmonella and other household bacteria.

REMOVING STAINS AND DEODORIZING
Combine two tablespoons of baking soda, one table spoon of salt, and 3 tablespoon hot water, to create a non-toxic cleaning agent. Mix these ingredients together to form a paste, and scrub the entire surface of the cutting board.
Wipe it with a warm wet cloth, and dry with a dish towel.

CLEAN WITH COARSE SALT AND LEMON
For an all-natural clean, dampen the cutting board with a warm cloth, and sprinkle coarse salt over it. Cut a lemon in half and scour the cut side of the lemon over the board while slightly squeezing out the lemon . Let it stand for 5 minutes, and then use a scrub brush to remove the excess.Rinse with water. Air dry on its side.

MAINTAINING YOUR WOOD CUTTING BOARD
It is advisable to only use very sharp knives, and not cutting into the board unnecessarily. Mineral oil is the most commonly used option because it is safe and cost effective way to maintain your board for years.
Beeswax is also an excellent way to protect your board. It is recommended that you oil, or wax, the board at least once a month.

OILS TO AVOID
Do not use vegetable, or nut-based oil, on your cutting board for the simple reason that it will spoil and become rancid. This will leave your wood cutting board with an unpleasant smell that may also noticeably change the taste of your food. .
